      Telepathology is one of the significant applications of telemedicine, which helps in connecting healthcare givers across distances. Telepathology is the electronic transmission of pathological images usually derived from microscopes, from one place to another for interpretation and diagnosis. Here we have static telepathology where we will present cases - along with their case notes and relevant images. members of oral pathology online can submit cases or suggest diagnosis.        
     

You may submit a case with a description of the case and attach the files in any of the following formats:

  • Images in JPG JPEG or TIF or PNG
  • Files in PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT or PPTX

The digital images can be obtained directly from a microscope by means of a high resolution photomicrographic camera, a computer and an image grabber card. Alternatively, you can take pictures with conventional film photography followed by scanning of the photographs to obtain the digitized images.

A complete clinical history, as required for submission of any case. Since patient information on the Internet cannot be kept confidential, the use of patient names is not required. As much as possible the images should be of good quality [excellent images will not be penalized!] and resolution. Images should have a resolution of at least 800x600 pixels; best if they are 1024x768 pixels. Microscopic images taken at different powers of magnification (2x, 4x, 10x, 20x, 40x). You can name the files accordingly. ABCD_fig01_2x.jpg. If you have multiple files, you can send in a zip format. You may send as many cases as you want for the forum free of charge.
